Reindeer Sledding, Feeding & Sami Culture (10AM Dept)

Visit a reindeer camp at Breivikeidet, less than an hour from Tromsø. The camp is located in a valley surrounded by mountains, with views towards the Lyngen Alps.

The visit includes a traditional 20-minute reindeer sled ride, followed by time to meet, feed and take photos of the reindeer. The sled ride is operated by Sami guides.

You can then warm up with a traditional bidos meal made with reindeer. Vegan and gluten-free options are available. During the meal, the guides will share stories about Sami culture, traditions and reindeer herding.

Good to know

• Pickup: 09:45 in front of Radisson Blu Hotel, Tromsø. The bus departs at 10:00.
• Return: Approx. 14:30 at Radisson Blu Hotel.
• Look for the guide wearing a blue Luhkka, a traditional Sami poncho.
• Duration: Approx. 4.5 hours.
• Activity level: Easy – suitable for families.
• The sled ride depends on snow conditions and may be shortened or cancelled if conditions are not suitable. If the sled ride cannot take place, a partial refund is offered.
• Maximum weight for the sled ride: 120 kg per person.
