What to expect

Pickup at Radisson Blu Hotel
Meet at 5:45 pm in front of Radisson Blu Hotel in Tromsø. Look for the guide in a blue Luhkka.
Scenic transfer to Breivikeidet
A 50-minute drive through Arctic landscapes with the Lyngen Alps on the horizon.
Reindeer sled ride
Glide through the snowy valley on a traditional Sami sled — about 20 minutes, snow conditions permitting.
Meet and feed the herd
Step into the enclosure to feed and photograph the reindeer up close.
Bidos dinner, stories & aurora watch
Enjoy a warm Bidos dinner in the lavvu while our Sami guides share their culture — and keep an eye on the sky for the northern lights.
Return to Tromsø
Back in front of Radisson Blu Hotel by approx. 10:30 pm.

Description

Away from the city lights, just 50 minutes from Tromsø, our camp at Breivikeidet lets you experience the true Arctic winter night. Glide through the darkness on a traditional reindeer sled, meet and feed our herd of 120 reindeer — and if the sky opens up, the northern lights may dance above you.

Enjoy Bidos for dinner in the warmth of the lavvu (vegan and gluten-free option available) while our Sami guides share stories, anecdotes and tales from centuries of tradition.

Good to know

Pickup: 5:45 pm in front of Radisson Blu Hotel, Tromsø. The bus departs at 6:00 pm.
Return: back at Radisson Blu Hotel by approx. 10:30 pm.
Look for the guide wearing a blue Luhkka (traditional Sami poncho).
Duration: approx. 4.5 hours. Activity level: easy — great for families.
The sled ride depends on snow conditions and its duration may be adjusted. If it cannot run at all, we offer a partial refund — the rest of the tour runs as normal.
Maximum weight per person on the sled: 120 kg.
The northern lights are a natural phenomenon and sightings cannot be guaranteed.
